“As Principal Consultant for ABS, Dr Baxter is a renowned as an expert in plant-based technologies, agricultural and horticultural crops, and associated extractive plant industries. With a long and illustrious career in the pharmaceutical, food, biological sciences, and agricultural sectors, Dr Baxter is a trusted authority in the field of plant-based technologies. He served as the Director of Agricultural Research and Development for Tasmanian Alkaloids, where he was responsible for strategic management of the company's agricultural R&D portfolio, including research into opiate production in opium poppies and cannabinoid production in medicinal cannabis. Dr Baxter's expertise has been instrumental in the development of natural opiate pharmaceuticals manufactured from poppies, which are used worldwide.
“We were looking for a team that had the expertise to blend science with natural remedies to develop a hangover remedy that actually works. In addition, the scientific lead needed to be someone who understood the complexities of international regulations and commercialisation. This is a unique skill-set. In addition to his PhD from the University of Canberra, Dr Baxter holds multiple master’s degrees in Agricultural Science, Business Administration, Applied Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Applied Science (Horticultural Technology); as well as several diplomas in Agriculture, Rural Techniques, Mathematics and Computing, and Law from prestigious universities in Australia. Dr Baxter brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Clænsian development team.” Mr Wells said.
